Lit Device Short Story
It was finally the day my dad was taking me fishing I can't wait to get there. Fishing is the best feeling because you're on the water. The white water and waves smashing against other waves with that unbearable feeling. The boat rocking back and forth. The winds whooshing in my face. It's the best feeling in the world. The birds are like lions leaping across the little lake. The worms aren't that nice, but when you finally here the little bop at the end of the fishing rod you know your day had just started. Now your in your chair at the end of the boat waiting for one of those gullible fish to snack onto your bait. Letting the breeze and heat of the sun onto your skin to get that perfect tan you always wanted. I mean seriously I’ve now been waiting 30 minutes for my dad to come out and drive me out to west lake. He finally came out with of course, I guess you can say boy scout clothe. We had been talking about this trip for over a month now and it was finally happening. We hoped in the car and was ready to leave when my dad yelled Jacob we left our bait inside. I got out of the car got the bait and left. We had been driving for an hour now, it has seemed liked 10 hours. I still have 6 hours left to go and I knew this was going to be a long ride. 3 hours into the drive our car stops. My dad went out to check what had happened and it looked like the gas tank had exploded. It looked like our trip was cancelled. We were waiting for a truck to come take us and that was the moment we saw a car which said on the side of the car “we going to west point”. This was almost as lucky as Cinderella going to the ball. Looks like they took this trip way more series than us. We than looked threw the window and there's a dad and a son just like us. It looked like they had enough room for us so we asked them to stop and they ending up letting us go. We got all of our stuff together and we hopped in. We couldn't say thank you enough. It had seemed with all of the stuff they had that this want there first time. They told us many stories about the fishes they have caught the rainy and the happy days. They couldn't stop saying about on labor day it was a 0 percent chance of raining and it ended up raining like cats and dogs, and how they made their own slip n slide. After them telling us their stories I couldn't wait to get up to west point. When I looked at my dad's face I knew he couldn't wait also. He had told me before it was going to be busy today and to never leave his side. He gave me this tracker thing just in case I got lost. It has been around 4 hours now and I am now so hungry i can eat a horse. We stopped at starbulls. I got the bacon gorilla, and my dad got the vanilla fract. We finally got on the road drove another hour and finally got there. The water was so clear and nice. I was so happy I couldn't even explain. That weekend I caught a 4 foot bass that I ended up taking home. I caught it for my Mom. I know my Mom would have been so proud.
